I've seen this issue raised before with little response.
Front Page articles are greatly appreciated, informative and well written. I cannot fault this site about that.
I would ask that Front Pagers provide an intro that allows we, the readers, to decide whether or not to read "over the fold". In the last week I've seen Front Page articles that take 4, 5 and even six screen loads before the next headline shows up. That seems excessive.
A policy review seems to be in order. What other progressive site, or any other site, for that matter, allows articles to take that much screen-real-estate without allowing the reader to choose whether or not to read further? Not HuffPo, not The Nation, not TPM, not Crooks and Liars, not FireDogLake. Yes, there is some value in "uniqueness", but, there is also some value in respect for reader's choice.
Please, please, please Kos ... review this policy.
Flame me if you must, but that will be futile, I will not respond.
Discuss with me, I likely will respond.
Tell me my UID makes me a newbie, fine, but anticipate my response and answer my automatic question: "Why would a computer-generated ID make my opinion more or less relevant?" Also, anticipate that my response to your likely reply is: "Yes, not only have I read the FAQ, I have understood it ... in detail ... your opinion is not superior because you have been on DKos longer."
... buttering the popcorn.
UPDATE: Already, there have been a few comments to the effect that this is an issue for "After November 4th". I respectfully submit that, DKos, like every other business, must continue refining it's business model while continuing to do business. I am acting in that vein, that is, raising the issue while the evidence is in front of our faces.
